Los Pinillos Environmental Classroom hosts bat conservation event

The Los Pinillos Environmental Classroom in Cuenca will host ‘The Night of the Bats’ on September 14. This educational event is organized by the Provincial Delegation for Sustainable Development in Cuenca in collaboration with WWF Spain, the Cuenca City Council, and environmental agents.

Part of the Horizon 2030 Environmental Education Strategy, the program aims to promote the knowledge and conservation of bats. Activities include a lecture by Elena Tena, president of the Spanish Society for the Conservation and Study of Bats (Secemu), to dispel myths about the species. The event will also feature costume workshops for children, an echolocation game, and a guided walk using ultrasound detectors to listen to local bat species.
