Los Realejos celebrates 20th anniversary of traditional cereal harvest

The Diego Pérez Traditional Harvest Festival marked its 20th anniversary in Icod El Alto, Los Realejos. This annual ethnographic reenactment celebrates the historic cereal harvest and honors the region's agricultural ancestors.

Despite misty and rainy weather, the community gathered to perform the centuries-old ritual. The event serves as a tribute to local farming traditions, though participants noted modern challenges such as low crop yields and a lack of interest in agriculture among younger generations.
