Los Redondos unreleased 1985 footage discovered in attic
Unreleased footage of the iconic Argentine rock band Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota has been discovered in the attic of an old house in San Miguel, Buenos Aires province. The Super 8 film captures a performance at the Palladium club on December 28, 1985, as well as behind-the-scenes moments from an early stage of the band's career.
The recordings originated from a 1985 project where film students proposed creating a music video for the song ‘Criminal Mambo’, with a script by Indio Solari. While the video was never completed, the film rolls remained stored in boxes for four decades.
The material has been restored to 4K resolution by a specialized laboratory in Madrid. Because the original footage lacked sound, filmmakers synchronized the images with the console audio recorded during that night. The footage will be featured in the independent documentary ‘Buscando a Patricio Rey’, which chronicles the history of the band.
