Tarapacá Governor seeks meeting with President Kast over regional issues
Various regional developments and administrative actions are occurring across Chile. In Tarapacá, Governor José Miguel Carvajal has requested a meeting with President José Antonio Kast to discuss critical issues, including the reconstruction of roads damaged by rain, delays in the Iquique Hospital study, the ZOFRI concession process, and concerns regarding proposed regional budget reductions.
In Iquique, local debate has emerged regarding road maintenance. Councilman Cristian Barra suggested that excessive irrigation of urban green spaces may be contributing to pavement deterioration, questioning the efficacy of large-scale road repair investments without addressing this cause.
