Los Ríos Ministry launches first winter festival in Crucero, Chile

The Programa para Pequeñas Localidades (PPL) of Chile's Ministry of Housing and Urbanism organized the first Winter Festival in Crucero, Los Ríos, on June 26‑27. Held at the Oscar Daniel School, the two‑day event offered botanical illustration, audiovisual storytelling, cooking workshops, self‑care sessions and garden projects for children, youth and adults. Regional housing minister Cristian Arriagada Patiño praised the initiative, noting that the program “values the work of the professionals and encourages community participation during the winter vacation period.”

The festival aimed to foster creativity, collaboration and healthy habits while revitalising communal life during the seasonal break.
