Los Ríos region flower producers seek international markets

Flower producers in Chile’s Los Ríos region are advancing commercial opportunities with importers from Mexico, the United States, and Brazil. Following a trade mission held between October 18 and 20, 2026, delegates visited companies in Lago Ranco, Paillaco, and San José de la Mariquina to evaluate flower quality, supply conditions, and logistics.

Key interests include a Brazilian buyer seeking up to 5,000 stems per week and a Mexican company preparing an initial order. The mission was organized by ProChile and supported by the Regional Government through the Regional Fund for Productivity and Development (FRPD) to facilitate internationalization and diversify the local productive matrix.

Separately, Chile’s Undersecretary of Agriculture, Francesco Venezian, attended the IFPA Global Produce & Floral Show in Orlando, Florida. During the event, Venezian met with U.S. Department of Agriculture representatives and industry actors to discuss sanitary procedures and market trends. He emphasized the need to streamline sanitary processing to facilitate faster shipments to the United States, which remains a primary destination for Chilean fruit exports.
