Los Ríos Region prepares 19th anniversary celebrations across 12 communes

The Los Ríos Region in Chile is preparing to celebrate its 19th anniversary throughout October with a diverse program of activities spanning all 12 communes. The festivities will include cultural, sporting, and community events designed to highlight the region's identity and territorial diversity.

Official ceremonies will begin on October 1 with the raising of the national flag and a regional Te Deum in Valdivia, alongside activities in Futrono, Río Bueno, and La Unión. A formal anniversary session of the Regional Council will take place on October 2 at the Cervantes Regional Theater, where distinguished individuals and institutions will be recognized for their contributions to social leadership, science, culture, and the environment.

Key highlights of the month-long celebration include the V International Meeting ‘De Los Ríos al Mundo’ at Parque Saval, the Valdivia International Film Festival, the 19th Regatas Valdivia, and various folklore galas and youth orchestra encounters.
