Los Taques: Man shot dead in front of his home

Wilson Alexander Vargas Chacón, 34, was shot and killed in front of his home in the Jayana Norte sector of Los Taques, Falcón state. The incident occurred around 8:00 PM on Wednesday on La Esperanza Street in Santa María Oeste.

Reports indicate that Vargas Chacón had received death threats earlier that morning. Investigators suggest the killing may have been a targeted settlement of accounts, as the assailants appeared to know the victim was at his residence. This marks the second homicide recorded in the Los Taques municipality this year.

Local police cordoned off the scene until the Punto Fijo Municipal Delegation of the CICPC arrived to conduct a technical inspection and remove the body. The victim had a prior criminal record involving drug-related offenses, including arrests in 2011 and 2013.
