Los Tigres del Norte to mentor ‘México Canta’ semifinalists

The musical group Los Tigres del Norte will serve as special guests and mentors for the semifinals of ‘México Canta’, a binational singing competition designed to recognize Mexican-American talent. The event is scheduled for August 23 at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced that the group will act as godparents to the seven remaining semifinalists. Sheinbaum praised the band for their solidarity with the project and their role in promoting values and giving a voice to migrants. In addition to their participation, the group will be recognized by the Mexican Music Council for their 57-year career.

The competition aims to foster talent across the border in a non-violent environment. For those unable to attend the Los Angeles event in person, the semifinal will be broadcast via Canal 22 and other Mexican public media platforms.
