Toulouse clinches fourth straight Top 14 title

The Stade Toulousain defeated Montpellier 28‑20 in the Top 14 final at the Stade de France, securing a record‑equalling fourth consecutive French championship and the club’s 25th Brennus Shield. Hooker Peato Mauvaka scored two tries, including a 40‑metre sprint, while captain Antoine Dupont added a further try. The match, played in sweltering heat, was paused for 12 minutes after a thunderstorm before the teams resumed and Toulouse held on for the win.

Following the victory, six Toulouse players – notably Antoine Dupont and Romain Ntamack – were added to Fabien Galthié’s France squad for the new Nations Championship in Australia. They will miss the opening clash with the All Blacks on 4 July but are available for the July 11 match against the Wallabies in Brisbane and the July 18 game versus Japan in Tokyo.

The final attracted strong TV audiences, with France 2 recording 3.76 million viewers (24.5 % share) and Canal+ reporting a peak of 1.07 million. The win reinforces Toulouse’s dominance in French rugby and sets the stage for their players’ participation in the upcoming international tournament.
