LOSC Lille to take control of Stade Pierre-Mauroy after settlement

LOSC Lille has reached an agreement with the Métropole européenne de Lille (MEL) to settle a long-standing dispute regarding unpaid stadium rent. The club will pay 26.6 million euros, which includes 24.8 million euros in unpaid rent from the past four seasons and 1.8 million euros in interest. In exchange, the club will withdraw twelve legal appeals previously filed before the Lille administrative court.

This settlement paves the way for a major shift in the management of the Stade Pierre-Mauroy (also known as Decathlon Arena). Currently managed by Eiffage, the club intends to take over the exploitation of the 50,186-seat venue starting in early 2027 through a new legal entity called Lille Arena SAS. This transition will allow LOSC to control various revenue streams, including concerts, catering, hotels, and parking services.

While the Métropole retains ownership of the stadium, the club's control over its operations is expected to significantly increase its economic value. This move comes amid broader financial discussions surrounding the club, which has been valued at approximately 500 million euros by an Anglo-Saxon audit firm, though the American fund Elliott has stated that no sale is currently being considered.
