Lot officials demand continued access to local public fiscal services

Local officials in the Lot department are demanding long-term guarantees for the maintenance of local public fiscal services. Following the announced closure of the Saint-Céré Accounting Management Service by 2029, Saint-Céré Mayor Louis Bontemps and Lot Deputy Aurélien Pradié are advocating for the preservation of physical access to public finances.

The proposed administrative reorganization affects missions currently carried out in both Saint-Céré and Gourdon. The officials emphasize that in rural areas where mobility is a daily challenge, digital solutions cannot be the sole response. They have requested that the commitment to maintain physical reception points for individuals be formalized through a long-term convention with the departmental directorate to ensure equitable access to public services.
