Lotería Nacional honors SOGEM with commemorative banknote

Mexico's Lotería Nacional has issued a commemorative banknote to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Sociedad General de Escritores de México (SOGEM). The tribute was presented through the Sorteo Superior No. 2900.

The commemorative design features SOGEM and four prominent figures associated with the society's history: Caridad Bravo Adams, Fernanda Villeli, Emilio Carballido, and Víctor Hugo Rascón Banda.

During the presentation, Olivia Salomón Vibaldo, director of Lotería Nacional, emphasized the importance of protecting authors' rights and the role of writers in building national identity through film, theater, radio, and literature. She noted that while digital platforms and artificial intelligence are transforming content creation, human sensitivity and imagination remain irreplaceable in storytelling.
