Lotta Folcker to step down as Aftonbladet editor-in-chief

Lotta Folcker has decided to leave her roles as editor-in-chief, CEO, and responsible publisher of the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet. Folcker, who assumed these leadership positions in the spring of 2024, stated that her decision was made for personal reasons.

Siv Juvik Tveitnes, CEO of Schibsted, expressed regret over the departure, praising Folcker for her journalistic leadership and her efforts to innovate the evening newspaper.

During the transition period, Aftonbladet will be led by managing editor Karin Schmidt and CFO Emelie Karlsson. Schmidt will serve as the acting responsible publisher with oversight of all editorial operations.
