Lotte Biologics consolidates operations at new Songdo Bio Campus

Lotte Biologics has officially commenced its 'Songdo Era' by consolidating all domestic employees and corporate functions into the newly completed Songdo Bio Campus in Incheon, South Korea. This move integrates headquarters, research, and production infrastructure into a single location to enhance collaboration and operational efficiency.

The Songdo Plant 1 has received usage approval just two years after groundbreaking, accelerating the typical construction timeline for biopharmaceutical facilities. The plant features a vertical integrated structure and a smart plant infrastructure, including 120,000L of total culture capacity across eight 15,000L stainless steel bioreactors, alongside automated robotic logistics.

Lotte Biologics aims to achieve 'GMP-ready' status by the end of this year, six months ahead of its original schedule. This will enable a 'dual site' strategy, linking the large-scale commercial production capabilities in Songdo with the Syracuse, U.S. campus, which specializes in clinical volume production. The company is currently conducting qualification and commissioning (C&Q) to target commercial production starting next year.
