Lotte Construction Deploys Autonomous Floor‑Cleaning Robot at Incheon Site

Lotte Construction announced the deployment of an autonomous floor‑cleaning robot at its Incheon Hyosung‑District development project. Developed in partnership with robot specialist TXR Robotics, the robot uses a pre‑programmed site map to navigate, collect debris and dust, avoid workers and obstacles, and return to a charging station after completing its tasks. It can operate in low‑light conditions, allowing night‑time, unmanned cleaning.

The company said the technology reduces repetitive manual labour, improves worker safety and boosts overall construction efficiency. After a successful technical demonstration, Lotte plans to expand the use of the robots to other ongoing and completed sites.

A Lotte Construction spokesperson stated, “The introduction of this autonomous cleaning robot will lessen simple repetitive work and allow site workers to focus on core construction activities, thereby enhancing operational efficiency.”
