Lotte Fine Chemical and Amogy partner on clean ammonia energy

Lotte Fine Chemical has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the U.S.-based company Amogy to expand clean hydrogen and power generation businesses using ammonia.

The partnership aims to combine Lotte Fine Chemical’s ammonia distribution infrastructure with Amogy’s ammonia cracking and power generation technologies. The collaboration will focus on three primary areas: the establishment of green hydrogen refueling stations, decentralized green ammonia power generation, and green ammonia bunkering.

In the refueling sector, Lotte Fine Chemical will supply green ammonia, while Amogy’s cracking systems will be used to produce hydrogen on-site. For power generation, the companies will explore modular solutions for commercial facilities and local communities. Additionally, they will discuss supplying fuel to vessels equipped with Amogy’s ammonia power modules using Lotte Fine Chemical’s terminal capabilities at Ulsan Port.
