Lotte Rental G car launches conversational AI reservation service

Lotte Rental’s car-sharing brand, G car, has launched ‘G car AI Reservation,’ a conversational service that allows users to recommend and book vehicles using spoken or written language. This marks the first commercialization of such a conversational booking system in the South Korean car-sharing industry.

Instead of manually searching maps for locations and vehicle types, users can input specific requests, such as wanting an electric vehicle near Seoul Station for a day. The AI analyzes the location, purpose, and time to suggest approximately three suitable vehicles. Users can continue the conversation to request cheaper options or different models. The system also compares various service types, including round-trip rentals, one-way services, vehicle delivery, and monthly subscription products, while factoring in available user coupons to suggest the most advantageous option.

Beyond reservations, G car utilizes AI for vehicle operations, automatically processing over 88% of inspections regarding car wash status and damage detection. The service features a dedicated AI character named ‘G-ni’ that expresses various emotions through facial expressions during the interaction.
