Team Europe finalizes Solheim Cup roster with Maguire and three rookies
Captain Anna Nordqvist announced the complete 12‑player European Solheim Cup team for the September 11‑13 matches at Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands. Automatic qualifiers were England’s Charley Hull and Germany’s Esther Henseleit, who earned spots through the Ladies European Tour points list, and six players who qualified via the world rankings: Lottie Woad (England), Maja Stark (Sweden), Linn Grant (Sweden), Celine Boutier (France), Carlota Ciganda (Spain) and Nanna Koerstz Madsen (Denmark).
Nordqvist’s four captain’s picks added veteran Leona Maguire of Ireland – making her fourth Solheim Cup appearance despite a recent slump – and three first‑time selections: Julia Lopez Ramirez (Spain), Nastasia Nadaud (France) and Mimi Rhodes (England). The European side will aim to reclaim the cup after a loss in Virginia in 2024, while the United States team has yet to be announced.
