Lotto jackpot hits record 44.8 million PLN in Poland

A single player has won a record-breaking 44,794,855 PLN in the Polish Lotto drawing held on Saturday, September 19. This marks the highest jackpot in the history of the game in Poland, surpassing the previous record of approximately 36.7 million PLN set in Skrzyszów in 2017.

The winning numbers were 3, 6, 9, 22, 40, and 48. After a 10 percent lottery tax, the winner is expected to receive approximately 40.3 million PLN. In the same drawing, 107 players matched five numbers, winning nearly 9,000 PLN each.

The massive jackpot was attributed to recent changes implemented by Totalizator Sportowy in August, which increased the guaranteed first-prize pool and directed a larger portion of the total pool toward the main jackpot. These changes also included an increase in the price of a single bet from 3 PLN to 5 PLN. While this is a historic win for Lotto, the largest single prize in Poland remains held by the Eurojackpot game.
