Lotus 97T to be recreated in limited ten-unit replica project

Memento Exclusives has announced a heritage project to produce only ten full-scale replicas of the iconic Lotus 97T. The car was famously driven by Ayrton Senna and Elio De Angelis during the 1985 Formula 1 season.

Developed in partnership with Classic Team Lotus, the project utilizes previously unreleased archival materials, including hand-drawn designs and original construction documents. Unlike modern replicas created via CAD data, these units will employ many of the same materials and construction techniques used in the original 1985 model, with input from individuals who worked on the initial project.

Each of the ten replicas will feature an individual chassis plate, allowing them to be formally registered within the Team Lotus archive. The Lotus 97T is a significant piece of racing history, having secured three victories and seven pole positions during its season, marking a period of competitive resurgence for the team.
