The Lotus Cancer Initiative Inc., in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Oxford Medical, conducted a community cancer screening and health education outreach in Diamond and surrounding East Bank Demerara communities.

The initiative provided 59 individuals with access to various specialist services, focusing heavily on early detection and prevention. Women received cervical cancer screenings, including Pap smears and HPV testing, with colposcopy and biopsies available for those requiring further evaluation. Clinical breast examinations and health education were also provided.

Men participated through prostate cancer screening and education sessions. The program included health education addressing risk factors and warning signs, with a commitment to patient follow-up and navigation to ensure those requiring further investigation receive appropriate care.
