LOUD WOMEN expands international music festival circuit to Tokyo and Newport

LOUD WOMEN, a grassroots network dedicated to amplifying women in punk and alternative music, has announced its debut festival in Tokyo. Scheduled for November 14 at Shinjuku’s MARZ, the event is held in collaboration with the rock-for-climate series ‘Too Hot to Be Cool’. The festival will feature nine women-led acts from Japan, South Korea, the UK, and the US, including 18Fevers, Akabane Vulgars on Strong Bypass, and Sister Ghost.

Founder Cassie Fox noted that the Tokyo expansion represents a new chapter for the organization, which began in a London pub eleven years ago. The initiative aims to connect Tokyo’s DIY scene with an international community of artists and audiences.

Additionally, the LOUD WOMEN Fest Newport is scheduled for October 3 at Le Pub in Wales. This first full festival in Wales will feature 11 artists from Wales, the UK, Europe, and the USA, performing across two stages including an outdoor acoustic setup.
