Louga authorities prepare for Magal de Mbacké Kadior

Authorities in Louga, Senegal, are preparing for the Magal de Mbacké Kadior religious event scheduled for November 8, 2026. During a regional development committee meeting held on October 8, Governor Ndèye Ngenar Mbodj announced several measures to ensure the event's success.

Key initiatives include strengthening security through the mobilization of the gendarmerie and firefighters, as well as improving public lighting by maintaining and extending the network by 5 km. To prevent power outages, officials have committed to ensuring the locality remains connected to the grid during and after the event.

Health and sanitation are also priorities. Due to the presence of diseases such as Rift Valley fever and diphtheria, the regional executive is reinforcing medical support for pilgrims. The organizing committee has requested additional ambulances and liaison vehicles to facilitate medical care and ensure a steady supply of potable water.
