Louis Cancelmi joins Hulu drama pilot 'Chicks' starring Ellen Pompeo and Jodie Whittaker

Louis Cancelmi has been added to the cast of Hulu's drama pilot "Chicks" as series regular Danny McKeever, a poet‑soul funeral‑home operator who becomes entangled in a criminal partnership. The series centers on Chickie (Ellen Pompeo) and her estranged half‑sister Doreen (Jodie Whittaker), who face a financial crisis after their father's unexpected death leaves them a legacy of small‑time crime.

Created by writer‑producer Katie Robbins for 20th Television, the pilot was ordered last month. Ellen Pompeo also serves as an executive producer. Production is slated to begin in September in New York City.
