Louis Leterrier confirms existence of darker, longer cut of The Incredible Hulk

Director Louis Leterrier has confirmed the existence of a longer, darker cut of the 2008 film ‘The Incredible Hulk’. Speaking during a Q&A with Collider, Leterrier validated long-standing fan rumors regarding an alternate version of the movie that differs significantly from the theatrical release.

According to Leterrier, this version includes substantial footage that was not included in the final theatrical run. Most notably, the scrapped material reportedly featured early iterations of characters such as Tony Stark and Captain America, which could have altered the early trajectory of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

While ‘Iron Man’ became the foundation for the franchise, ‘The Incredible Hulk’ faced a more difficult commercial path, earning approximately $264 million worldwide compared to the $585 million earned by its predecessor. The director noted that the film served as an early experiment in planting the narrative seeds for the interconnected stories that define the MCU today.
