Louis Oosthuizen to leave LIV Golf

Louis Oosthuizen, the 2010 Open champion, has announced his intention to leave LIV Golf. The 44-year-old South African stated that the proposed travel schedule for the league's potential '2.0' model would be too taxing on his body.

Speaking to the South China Morning Post, Oosthuizen expressed a desire to control his own schedule to remain competitive, noting that the requirement for extensive international travel for single events was a primary concern. While he praised the team aspect of LIV Golf, he concluded that it was time to move on.

Oosthuizen joins other high-profile players, such as Jon Rahm, in departing the breakaway circuit. The league currently faces an uncertain future as it navigates financial restructuring following reports of funding cuts from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund. Players reportedly face a deadline of October 25 to officially decide their future with the circuit.
