Louis van Gaal leaves Ajax advisory role

Louis van Gaal has departed his role as an advisor to the Supervisory Board at Ajax, citing a lack of influence and dissatisfaction with the club's organizational structure. Having served in this capacity since October 2023, Van Gaal stated that he felt his expertise was not valued and that his impact on policy was extremely limited.

Van Gaal criticized the club's decision-making processes, noting that approximately sixteen individuals—including the board, the Supervisory Board, and the management board—are involved in technical policy decisions. He argued that this structure leads to excessive delays in critical matters, such as appointing coaches or recruiting players, and noted that many participants lack sufficient professional football experience.
