Louisiana announces Second Amendment Sales Tax Holiday
Louisiana will host its annual Second Amendment Weekend Sales Tax Holiday from Friday, September 4, through Sunday, September 6. During this period, local and state sales taxes will be waived on various firearms and hunting-related items.
Eligible tax-exempt items include archery equipment such as bows and crossbows, hunting apparel like camouflage clothing and safety gear, and specialized tools or accessories designed for hunting. Other exempt items include firearm cases, range finders, pirogues, and certain knives and ammunition.
According to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Louisiana has nearly half a million hunters, with deer hunters being the most common group of licensees.
