Louisiana Christian University defeats Northwestern State in historic win

Louisiana Christian University made college football history by defeating Northwestern State University 42-37. This victory marks the first time an NAIA program has beaten a scholarship-awarding NCAA Division I program.

Despite trailing 27-14 at halftime, the Wildcats rallied in the second half to secure the win at Turpin Stadium. Louisiana Christian, a private Baptist school with an enrollment of fewer than 1,000 students, entered the game as a two-score underdog against the Division I FCS program.

This win is only the 13th time in history that an NAIA program has defeated a NCAA Division I side. Northwestern State, which has struggled in recent seasons, suffered the loss in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
