Louisiana DOTD announces major roadwork projects in Shreveport area
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced several infrastructure projects in North Louisiana, including a $9.2 million repair project for a 10-mile stretch of LA 525 (Colquitt Road) in south Caddo Parish. Scheduled to begin August 13, the work will span from US 171 in Shreveport to LA 169 at Spring Ridge, with an estimated completion date in late spring 2027. The project involves full-depth base repairs, cross drain pipe replacement, concrete patching, milling, and new asphalt paving.
Additionally, a $6.8 million project to replace roadway signage along LA 3132 in Shreveport will result in intermittent lane closures. Starting Monday, August 17, closures will occur in both directions at the LA 511 and US 171 interchanges. These daily closures are expected to continue until August 28, as part of a larger project slated for completion in fall 2026.
