Louisiana Launches New WIC EBT Cards on Aug 1, 2026

The Louisiana Department of Health is changing the way state WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) benefits are delivered. Starting August 1, 2026, participants will receive a new Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card that can be reloaded remotely each quarter, eliminating the need for in‑person visits. The old card remains usable only through July 31, 2026.

Beneficiaries must set a personal identification number (PIN) for the new card and can manage their account through the state’s MyWIC app or the WIC website. The revamped system is intended to speed reviews, upgrades, and emergency benefit distribution for families in Louisiana.
