Louisiana officials sign NDAs over major industrial projects

An investigation has revealed that at least 54 elected officials in Louisiana have signed nondisclosure agreements (NDAs) related to major industrial developments since Governor Jeff Landry took office. The signers include 77% of the state Senate, 13% of the House, and leaders of both legislative chambers.

These agreements cover significant projects, such as a potential SpaceX facility in Vermilion Parish, Meta’s data center in Richland Parish, and developments by Amazon and Applied Digital. Additionally, the governor’s office has required more than 100 state employees to sign NDAs. Beyond industrial recruitment, NDAs have been used for other discussions, including those involving the Saudi-backed LIV Golf tournament.

In Vermilion Parish, the use of NDAs has prevented residents from obtaining basic details regarding a rumored SpaceX project. The proposed SpaceX facility is described as a massive investment that could include rocket launch capabilities, assembly, fuel manufacturing, and data centers.
