Louisiana State University student allegedly raped at gunpoint

A freshman student at Louisiana State University was allegedly lured into a study room in Spruce Hall and raped at gunpoint, according to university police. The incident occurred on a Friday night at the Baton Rouge campus.

Ronald White, 21, of New Orleans, has been charged with felony rape and firearm offenses. Police reports indicate that White, who is not a student at LSU, was brought to the dormitory by an acquaintance of a friend the victim was visiting. Once in a fourth-floor study room, White allegedly produced a black pistol and forced the victim to perform sexual acts.

Following the assault, the victim sought help in the building's lobby. White reportedly fled the building when officers arrived but was later apprehended by police hiding under a vehicle at a nearby intersection. While marijuana was recovered from White, the firearm used in the alleged attack has not yet been found.
