Louisville private museum features McDonald's memorabilia

A private collection of McDonald's memorabilia, known as McDonaldland, has become a point of interest in South Louisville. Located on private property, the collection is a personal museum curated by Joe Fleig and his family.

The collection features over 20 pieces of vintage McDonald's Playland equipment and various items collected from across the country, including a Grimace statue from Iowa and a Ronald McDonald statue from New Jersey. The project began in 2013 after Fleig purchased a Frisch's Big Boy statue.

While social media posts have occasionally claimed the site is the smallest McDonald's in the world, it is not a traditional restaurant. The actual smallest McDonald's is reported to be the McHive in Sweden.
