Louisville quarterback Lincoln Kienholz uncertain for NC State game

Louisville football faces challenges following a 30-27 upset loss to Wake Forest. Head coach Jeff Brohm reported that quarterback Lincoln Kienholz is a game-time decision for the upcoming matchup against NC State after sustaining an unspecified injury during the final drive of the Wake Forest game.

Kienholz was injured during a sack attempt by Dallas Afalava, which resulted in an awkward body movement. If Kienholz is unable to play, the Cardinals may rely on Davin Wydner or freshman Briggs Cherry to lead the offense.

In addition to injury concerns, the game highlighted defensive struggles for Louisville. Analysis of the second quarter noted significant mental errors, including blown coverages and confusion regarding player assignments during motion plays, which allowed Wake Forest to capitalize on offensive opportunities.
