Lourdes hotel-restaurant inspected for hygiene and labor violations

Judicial police in Lourdes discovered severe sanitary and labor violations during a control operation at a local hotel-restaurant on September 5. Investigators found the kitchens in a state of extreme filth, with perishable goods stored in unsanitary conditions.

In addition to the hygiene issues, the investigation revealed that five people were being employed illegally. Three individuals in irregular situations were arrested after admitting to working without contracts. These workers were being housed in a section of the hotel that had been officially closed since 2014.

The establishment had previously undergone administrative closure. The ongoing investigation is being conducted with support from the departmental directorate of public finances and the labor inspectorate.
