Louvre Museum to host two-century photography exhibition

The Louvre Museum in Paris will host the ‘Louvre Photo’ exhibition from November 4, 2026, to May 3, 2027. Curated by Dominique de Font-Réaulx and Quentin Bajac, the exhibition features over 300 photographs spanning two centuries, ranging from early photographic processes to contemporary works.

The collection explores the paradox of the museum, illustrating how the Louvre has transitioned from a place where art is viewed to a subject of art itself. The exhibition captures various facets of the institution, including its galleries, masterpieces, visitors, and the often-unseen staff. It also highlights the museum's history, beginning with the technical revolution of 1839 and the work of Louis Daguerre.
