Alannah Keyser apologizes after Love Island USA removal over resurfaced racial slur video

Alannah Keyser, a 21‑year‑old contestant on Love Island USA season 8, was removed from the show after a six‑year‑old video resurfaced showing her lip‑syncing to Roddy Ricch’s “The Box” and using the N‑word. The clip spread online during the Casa Amor twist, prompting producers to edit her out of subsequent episodes and announce her exit with the line “Alannah has left Casa Amor.”

Keyser posted a TikTok apology in which she said, “I’m sorry to whoever has seen that video and has been offended by it, that was never my intention,” and added that the word “is just not in my vocabulary anymore.” She also claimed screenshots of older posts were falsified and reiterated that she does not support racism or discrimination. Peacock confirmed the material was not publicly accessible during the casting vetting process.

This is the second contestant removed this season (after Vasana Montgomery) and the fourth in two seasons to face backlash over past racist language, following Yulissa Escobar and Cierra Ortega in season 7.
