Love Island USA Season 8 premieres on Peacock, filmed in Fiji, sparks drama and subscription buzz

Love Island USA launched its eighth season on June 2, 2024. The reality‑dating series is filmed on Fiji’s remote island villa and streams exclusively on Peacock. New episodes air six days a week, skipping Wednesdays; Week 2 begins Thursday, June 11.

Peacock offers three tiers: Premium ($11 / month), Premium Plus ($17 / month), and the $8 Select tier that does not include original Peacock shows. Viewers can access the series for free for 30 days by pairing a Walmart+ trial with the Peacock Premium benefit, or by subscribing to the Apple TV bundle.

The cast features three men with Miami ties, several Black women highlighted for representation, and a mix of bombshell arrivals that have driven early recouplings, eliminations and notable moments such as bedroom confessions, an age‑gap romance reveal, and the nickname “Reverse Leonardo DiCaprio” for contestant Gabriel Vasconcelos. One contestant, former Bethlehem police officer Sean Reifel, quit his department to join the show, prompting criticism from local officials.

Production has created a temporary boost for local services in Fiji, including housing and telecommunications demand, while the show continues to generate social‑media buzz and viewer voting that influences pairings.
