Love Island's Lorenzo Alessi warned by producers after coffee‑making controversy

Lorenzo Alessi, a 28‑year‑old fashion business owner and contestant on ITV2’s Love Island, attracted viewer backlash after refusing to make coffee for his partner Julia Majchrzak. He cited a promise made to his mother not to prepare coffee in the villa. On the companion show Aftersun, his mother explained, “He’s been watching this since he was a kid with me… I promise you, I’m not going to make anyone a coffee.” She later said the promise was a family joke.

Producers later issued a formal warning to Lorenzo for his villa behaviour, including his reluctance to engage in conversation and the coffee incident. Fellow islander Ope Sowande described Lorenzo’s attitude as “all chatted out,” prompting the production team to intervene.

The incident has sparked debate among fans about relationship dynamics on reality TV and highlighted the show's handling of contestant conduct.
