Lovise Skarbøvik Andresen falls in 100m hurdles qualifying
Norwegian hurdler Lovise Skarbøvik Andresen suffered a fall during the 100-meter hurdles qualifying heats at the European Athletics Championships. Despite showing strong form up until the final hurdle, Andresen tripped and fell, resulting in abrasions on her elbows and knees.
In emotional interviews, Andresen expressed frustration, noting that she felt she had returned to her previous competitive form before the accident occurred. She described the incident as a “belly flop” and noted that her legs did not seem to react in time to the final hurdle.
In contrast, her Norwegian teammates saw success in the event. Martine Hjørnevik advanced to the semifinals with a time of 12.82 seconds, while Elea Jørstad Bock also secured a spot in the semifinals by qualifying on time with a run of 12.98 seconds.
