Lovran hosts 20th annual Mića Marunada chestnut festival
The 20th annual Mića Marunada festival has commenced in Lovran, Croatia, celebrating local traditions and chestnuts. The event features cultural programs, workshops, and a wide variety of chestnut-based culinary offerings, including over 10,000 pastries prepared by local confectioners.
Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, David Vlajčić, attended the opening in an official capacity. During his visit, Vlajčić met with Lovran Mayor Bojan Simonič to discuss ministerial topics. The visit held personal significance for the Minister, who spent his childhood in Lovran as a refugee from Vukovar during the war years.
The festival includes participation from hundreds of children from the surrounding region and features educational workshops on local values and international culture.
