Lovran workshop receives unusual tombstone order for living relative
A workshop in Lovran, Croatia, named Laurus, reported an unusual incident where a man ordered a personalized granite tombstone for his living mother-in-law. The order included the recipient's photograph, name, a dedication, and the year 2026 listed as the year of death.
The customer provided all necessary details and approved a formal sketch before production began. However, when the delivery service arrived at the mother-in-law's address, she refused to accept the package. Because the order was customized and the payment method was set to cash on delivery, the workshop was left with the full costs of materials, production, and shipping.
Following this event, the owner of Laurus announced that the workshop will no longer offer cash on delivery for personalized products, requiring upfront payment for such orders in the future.
