Lovro Majer discusses AEK Athens move and Champions League goal

AEK Athens midfielder Lovro Majer has expressed his satisfaction with his move to the Greek club following a difficult period in Germany. After scoring his first goal for AEK in a Champions League match against Shakhtar Donetsk at Stamford Bridge, the Croatian international spoke about the positive environment and support he has received from his teammates and coaching staff.

Majer reflected on his departure from VfL Wolfsburg, noting that the club's relegation at the end of the previous season impacted his chances of participating in the World Cup. He described his time in Germany as a “nightmarish” or “shocking” season and stated that he felt a sense of relief and renewed enjoyment in football after joining AEK. He also credited the AEK coach for convincing him to join the project through a direct phone call outlining the club's vision.
