Low-cost mobile egg vendors attract consumers in Ho Chi Minh City

Mobile vendors in Ho Chi Minh City are attracting significant consumer interest by selling chicken eggs at low prices directly to residential areas and apartment complexes. In districts such as An Lac, eggs are being offered at approximately 2,000 VND per unit, which is notably cheaper than prices found in supermarkets or traditional markets.

While the low cost appeals to households and small food businesses looking to reduce ingredient expenses, some consumers have reported quality concerns. Some buyers noted that the eggs may spoil more quickly or that the yolks lack the firmness of fresh eggs.

This trend of low-cost retail stands in contrast to the difficulties faced by poultry farmers in Dong Nai, who are reportedly struggling with a prolonged and deep decline in farm-gate egg prices.
