Low voter turnout reported in Coahuila, Mexico as monitors oversee Peru's Chucuito runoff

Election officials in Coahuila, Mexico said citizen participation was below expectations during the early hours of the June 2 voting day, despite all polling stations being fully operational. Raúl Samaniego Alvarado of the National Electoral Institute urged voters to cast their ballots before polls close at 6 p.m.

In Peru's Chucuito province, the Defensoría del Pueblo deployed 48 commissioned supervisors to monitor the second‑round presidential vote. Coordinator Henry Gómez reported that the monitoring team oversaw the work of the National Electoral Processes Office, the National Jury of Elections, police and armed forces, ensuring voting proceeded without major delays and that voters with expired identification were accommodated.
