Lower Austria lottery winner remains silent after 7.3 million euro jackpot win

A lottery player in Lower Austria has won a jackpot of 7.3 million euros but has not yet come forward to claim the prize. The winning ticket was purchased in an industrial district within the region using a standard slip with five entries; the fifth entry contained the winning numbers.

Lottery spokesperson Günter Engelhart noted that it is common for winners to take approximately ten days to contact the reporting office. Potential reasons for the delay include waiting for public attention to subside, searching for the ticket, work commitments, or being away on summer vacation. Winners have three years to claim their prize before it expires.

As the winner remains silent, the jackpot for the upcoming Wednesday drawing is expected to increase to approximately 1.9 million euros following a recent Sunday drawing where no one matched all six numbers.
