Lower Austrian educators prioritize AI and cybersecurity training

Educational institutions in Lower Austria are increasing their focus on artificial intelligence, social media, and cybersecurity.

At the HTL Krems, students participated in a program titled ‘Who directs the likes?’, where representatives from the Austrian Armed Forces Military Cyber Center demonstrated the mechanics of cyberattacks, disinformation, and the influence of AI. The presentation highlighted how geopolitical conflicts and attacks on critical infrastructure impact both state actors and private individuals.

Simultaneously, the 69 adult education centers (Volkshochschulen) in Lower Austria held their 70th autumn conference in Krems. The organization announced plans to expand course offerings regarding AI and social media to help citizens navigate changing professional and daily life requirements. During the meeting, Lukas Michlmayr was re-elected as chairman for a three-year term, while Ulrike Königsberger-Ludwig was named honorary chairwoman in recognition of her 16 years of leadership.
