Lower Badibu residents appeal to President Barrow for new hospital

Residents of Lower Badibu have appealed to President Adama Barrow to establish a hospital in the district to address critical healthcare shortages. The request was made during a joint meeting of Lower and Central Badibu communities in Mbambori Kunda as part of the President’s 2026 Meet the People Tour.

Community leaders, including Alkalo Ali Bah, acknowledged recent government improvements in electricity, water, roads, and education, as well as the provision of fertilizer and a community ambulance. However, they emphasized that the lack of a major health facility remains a primary challenge. Representatives also called for the creation of a women’s garden to support local livelihoods.

In response, President Barrow stated that the government would conduct an assessment of the area's needs to determine the appropriate type of medical facility, noting that not every village can support a full hospital.
